Meredith Newell

Passionate about food from a young age, Meredith was raised in a vegetarian home on an organic farm. She learned that whole foods make better ingredients and better ingredients make tastier meals. Her first job was with a local catering company where she got a taste of what awaited her. Since 2006, Meredith has worked in private homes around the country as a personal chef, providing daily meals and catering intimate gatherings and larger parties. After moving to Grand Junction in 2009, she began to cook for her community of friends and to provide meals at small business luncheons and parties. Eventually, she was inspired to evolve her love for food into a business, creating TAPROOT in 2014.

In addition to catering, Meredith works at AdvantAge Integrative Medicine as the Health and Wellness Coordinator. Her training and certification from The Institute for the Psychology of Eating enable her to help patients to find nutritional balance and investigate their emotional connection to food. Meredith feels we must look at both what we eat and who we are as eaters.
